I'd like to hear more about this too. It contradicts everything I’ve learned on this forum.

I have a SERT made by Mastertune but would now get a TTS Mastertune system. You can tune the bike yourself with the new version.

If you got the dough...a fuel management system is the best bet....but many people just have the computer programming from the shop and they do fine. I have 31K miles on my Road King and haven't had a bit of problems. Course my 00' Low Rider has a carb...

I still have a carb so a few bucks in new jets is all that I need but I've heard good things about the TTS.

Steve (TTS) now has a trade in program on the SERT. The website has the details for it.
Believe it's like $100 for the upgrade. Just have to fill out a form and then send them the SERT and they send a new MasterTune box already set to your vin back.

What is "Lean" supposed to smell like

The H-D mechanics here are doing big bore, heads and cams without the need for a tuner of any type whatsoever because the ECM adjusts within 15 minutes to the proper parameters.

I certainly would NEVER take my bike to that shop! Man, somebody is selling you the wrong bill of goods! A word of advice for you, don't have your bike serviced there!

The opposite of rich? Don't know how to describe it to you, man. Go take your carborated lawn mower and fiddle with needles to find out what lean smells like!

The ECM needs to be recalibrated for the proper VE';s.

As for head and cam changes, the timing needs to be changed as well for the intake and exhaust valve timing has been changed, amongst other changes.

Please tell us what zipperhead HD mechs do this so no one will use them.

So what you're saying is that the motorcycles they ride to work everyday are not really running properly .....o-kay.
