I want to put highway pegs on my 2006 Superglide, but I want black mounting plates. Can anyone look up the part number for Low Riders, etc. that came with factory highway pegs with the flat mounting plates in black?
THANKS!!
I wanted to do the same thing with my Bob, so I went to the local Stealers, and the parts guys could not locate any black mounting plates, only the chrome ones. He said that they only make chrome ones, but I said the Low Riders have them, so it must be in the parts catalog. I showed him a pic of a 2006 Low Rider with one and he said "No Sh*it", but he still could not find a part number. So I bought chrome adjustable ones on eBay with pegs already on them for 50 bucks, and had them powder coated gloss black.
I like to be able to put weight on the foot pegs to help cornering. I don't want forward controls but it would be nice to have hiway pegs for long trips to give the legs a change of position.
Another thing that you may want to look at is try looking at finding some aftermarket hwy peg brackets. I bought a set of custom chrome hwy peg brackets and they are identical to the H-D ones that sell for $150 and I paid less than half of that. Luckily Harley hasnt changed up that bolt pattern for the hwy peg mounts in many many years so you might even be able to find a set of aftermarket ones in black as well. Good Luck.
