I was thinking of doing the same thing. Do the 1.75s require any type of tuning, maps, air cleaner upgrade, etc?
I was talking with a guy at Gails HD (outside of Kansas City), and he said they sell the Rush mufflers.
He also mentioned that they have found that on the newer EFI bikes no tuning is necessary if you go with the 2.0" or smaller internal baffles.
That means that the mufflers with 1.75" baffles shouldn't require anything as far as tuning, maps, etc.
Also, as I'm sure most know, the "larger" the baffle the "larger" the sound/loudness. This is true with the Rush, Screamin' Eagle, and other mufflers with replaceable baffles.

jluvs2ride, what was it you didn't like about Rush???
Too boomy, no edge or bark not really loud too me. Some of that is personal preference, Been riding w/open drag pipes most of my life. They look good though, Powder Coat Black, I've an extra set of heat shields that'll be sand blasted and powder coated black.
I had BUB Chambermaids on my 94FXDL, awsome sounding pipes. I sold this bike to my best friend when he got back from Iraq, he put on a set of VH Big Radius that he got from Doug's HD at 35% off. Those pipes sound really good to me.
I running the Hooker Stepped Tuned open pipes on my 1996 WG.... No baffles...
Plenty of 'bark' in them. But I live in a very rural area and we don't have any equipment, emission, or inspections, no 'sound police' running around either....
Here is a little 'audio/video' of the bike at idle. (Used an old Sony digital camera with built in mic and the tone is louder than it appears to be);
Hate to hear that - but they are black, look good and I got a great deal - $149 nib. I will either paint heathield black to match or just wrap the headers. That will get me by til I get a full exhaust - I am leaning towards Bub7 2-2.

One guys music is another's noise. Riders shopping for sound need to hang around bike events for a bit. Ask about those that sound good to you. You really can't get much from audio recordings. You need to hear the bike on the street.
BTW, I love the sound of my rush, no annoying blatting or harshness that you hear from a lot of others, like the V&H, just music. A good tune will also help smooth out the sound.
I put the 1.75" black slash cut on my carb'd Dyna. Good sound and they have gotten just a little louder since originally intalled about 2 months ago. Price was right and they are repackable if they burn out.
They are plenty loud now, glad I did not go with the more open baffle. It needed a little carb adjustment and I put the Stage 1 AC on.
I have the Rush 1.75 along with SE stage 1 kit ( no down load). Originally had a fuel pack but I did not like the way the bike ran with it. Many hours of searching and talking I decided on the XIED's and they seemed to take care of the lean, hot running issue. The bike ran good with the XIED's installed. I just recently removed the XIED's and installed a PC-V ( retro fit ). The weather has only allowed 2 short rides but I like what I have seen so far.

This is a very good post on a very subjective topic. Personal preference plays a very big role and the best way to decide is to hear the various offerings live at bike events.
I like mine okay. A bit too much popping on decel for my liking due to the fact that for whatever reason, the Rush inhale more cold air on decel. When that cold air hits the hot exhaust air - POP! I also think the chrome is bit thin. If I had to do it all over again, I would have purchased a quality 2-1 system.
