I have the 2007 Dyna parts manual.

According to pages 60-61, the 66 tooth rear sprocket is for the CAST rear wheel only. Page 61 of the parts manual lists the silver 66T sprocket at P/N 40221-07 and the black 66T sprocket as P/N 40114-07.

What is weird is that on pages 62-63 of my 2007 Dyna parts manual, it also lists the 64 tooth rear sprocket in black, for the SPOKED rear wheel, as P/N 40114-07, which is the same P/N as the black, 66T rear sprocket for the CAST real wheel.

The only difference is that on page 61 of the 2007 Dyna parts manual, the 66T rear sprockets are only for CAST wheels, with 66T 40114-07 in black being for the Low Rider only and the 66T 40221-07 in silver being for the FXD Super Glide. On page 63 or the 2007 Dyna parts manual, P/N 40114-07 64T sprocket in black is indicated for laced wheels only for FXDL, FXDWG, FXDC and FXDB. What's weird is that I have a 2007 FXDC Super Glide and I have a silver rear sprocket that is not even shown in the parts manual for my 2007 FXDC..!!!

Does this help?

Richard..

Not at all.....LOL.

Harley's reference materials are not free of misprints. Looks like another example here.

Thanks for the effort!

I went to my Service Manual to check the rear sprocket information. The misprint is in my parts manual on the pages for the spoked rear wheel where it listed a 64T sprocket for the spoked rear wheel. The correct info is that for 2007, the Dyna rear sprockets are all 66T. The black sprocket is P/N 40114-07 and the silver sprocket is 40221-07.
So as it turns out, lonewatie's information from his post of October 22 is correct.

Richard
