Default Bulletproofing my Dyna

Well, I really love my bike but after ownng it for a couple of years and doing lots of research I think I have finally come up with what it will take to get it to "bulletproof" status and I am wondering if it's worth it. I was wondering what you guys all think. Should I:

1. Do the new stator & SE compensator kit?
2. Dump the cam chain tensioners for S&S gear drives & andrews bearings
3. Have the crank trued & welded
4. Change out the IPB for a Jim's with the new 07 doweled cases (chrome inner)
5. Add true tracks to the suspension
6. Add progressive springs to the forks
7. Get a big bore kit. (95")
8. add the hi performance oil pump
9. do the brembo brakes front & rear
10. get the new regina primary chain tensioner

miles of smiles with all the performance add on's.... however, a few people I know here locally have buyers remorse for sinking a few grand into their engine. Something to the tune of they would never do it again....( these are guys that went over 103" though).

Smile 1 or 2 add-ons

I'd add Ohlins shocks and dual front Brembos to the great list you have. I shaved 20 feet off my stopping distance from 50 mph by going to a dual front brake set-up. How about racetech cartridge emulators, too? Oh, the things we could do, if we only had unlimited time and money! Good luck. Jay

Why progressive springs? There are much better springs out there, and you can add those ricor intimidators or cartridge emulators, blah blah blah..

I've read a little about the SE compensator. Exactly what purpose does it serve? Just a cleaner start up or make the bike run better or what?

And its to my understanding that you only really need to have the crank trued/welded when you go with a huge motor build.. from what I've read at least. Perhaps others can chime in with those builds?

Whats the Jim's IPB? Never heard of that.. couple on here have done the high torque Baker IPB and they've been really happy with it. Consider that maybe?

True Track was an AWESOME upgrade. Very, very good modification.

I wish I had that kind of discretionary income. If it's not broke, why not just ride it?

I'm with you...the only thing I may add before break occurs will be an oil cooler. Thoughts?

My pa says to me, "If it ain't broke... don't fix it". But who ever listens to dear old dad?

What does 'bullet proof' mean any way? Will the completion of / or anything on... your list keep your bike from breaking or wearing out?

Why not spend your extra cash on some more of those poker runs that support the families of our men & wowen who have given there lives in service to thier country.

*if* I was in your shoes KB........

1. stator for sure to let go sooner or later.
SE compensator. not necessarily, but, it is a high quality upgraded component
.
2. gear drive. nah
bearings . yes
.
3. crank trued & welded. if you're opening the lower end, for sure.
otherwise, check runout and go from there
.
4. IPB and cases. yeah. why not.
.
5. and 6. this couldn't hurt. do it if you feel it's needed.
.
7. 95". absolutely (or bigger)
.
8. oil pump. not necessary
.
9. brakes . stopping power is a good thing.
.
10. primary chain tensioner.
I'm fine with the HD component, now that I got away from the first off 06 design.
