It rides ok. Like I said my big complaint is the amount of sag once I sit on it. It sits nice and tall with no load but once I'm on it the amount of clearance gained is diminished. Overall the ride is very plush and does not bottom out when solo. I really wanted it to sag about 1" with me on it.

Progressive actually makes a longer shock but its' for ATV's. I was looking at a 15.75" shock but that would be nuts. These 14.25's have plenty of travel, so it seems but I need stiffer springs to avoid taking up half the travel by just sitting on it.

I'm happy with my setup so far otherwise. My goal is to raise both front and rear to allow some mild offroading. Kind of like a Dyna Ulysses combo. I'm looking for USD forks and trees that can handle the weight of this bike. I think it's gonna look pretty unique as well as being very practical.

The pipes I'm getting used it. They sound awesome but just too loud some times. Sounds different the the usual Harley sound. Deeper if you can believe that. The midrange power is excellent and I'm only running SE A/C and XIED's so far.

You could get longer tubes cut for the front forks (maybe 4"?) and then cut some pvc pipe for longer spacers inside.

Should be a wild setup when your done.

Progressive has different rate springs available for your 412's; they're cheap and easy to replace...but I wouldn't call them "custom". I couldn't get the right solo rate for a pair of 418's I had, so put stock shocks back on my FXDXT. Have you called Progressive yet? Dennis Kirk also carries the replacement springs; or used to.....set up right you should have a pretty plush ride solo or 2-up.

I know the problem. It's the small diameter spring wire. The spring rate is far too low for my needs. I think these shocks can be taken apart to have the spring replaced. I'll contact Progressive to find out.

Jorge,

That looks like a European Harley! Where are you based?

If you are running the standard shock you should get the Heavy Duty spring and try that. I take it you are 210 plus gear then add the trunk and it is to heavy for the Standard shock and with your wife it is definitely over loaded. I had Standard 412s and they did sag quite a bit and I am 185 plus gear.
