The cheapest way to tune your bike is to fit a smaller crank sprocket. Harleys are way over-geared. I fitted a SE 21T kit (came with new chain) to my 03 Dyna, to replace the original 25T. That increases torque at the rear wheel by no less than 19%.

See this link on the Baker website. My bike as stock was geared for around 140mph at peak rpm in top gear, now it is around 120mph.

Better check on those SE 204 cams and warranty if you haven't already done so. I'm thinking there are only certain cams you can install and retain warranty. SE 204's are not one of them unless you work something out with dealer. Good cams and cheap on ebay, though.

Stage I, SERT & Rush slip-ons with 2" baffles = 74+ HP 84+ torque and this is an improvement over the last dyno-tune. The slip-ons are restrictive compared to a complete exhaust system. I wish I had sprung for a good 2-1 system.

grbrown, I'm new to motorcycles and I've been twisting my moustache for weeks trying to figure out what I want in a stage 1 for exhaust, ac, fuel management; trying to balance aesthetics, cost and performance. Your post is the first I've seen that suggests installing a smaller sprocket. I'm interested in torque, not hp or top end. Not to hijack the thread, but are there any reasons why I wouldn't want to go to a smaller sprocket? Maybe highway milage? Seems like a no brainer.
