I'm reall thinking of installing floarboards now.
Can it be done on a Dyna?
Anyone knows if H-D has a such a kit?
Any other aftermarket maker in mind?
Thanks for any tip

Go to the above link and see pages 13, 14 & 15. There are complete instructions and parts list for the conversion I did. Basically the right or brake side will all mount up perfect, no modifications needed. The left or shifter side is the problem. I personallly feel that what I did with the Shifter is about as clean and factory looking as they come. I am very happy with this. Have had it the full riding season this year.

i put on the two orange harley floorboard and nearly took them off. i was having too much problem with the fact that my legs kept wanting to go off the sides of them, knees opening up like you stated. i put a piece of tin in the space where they pivot and now that they are slightly angled up toward the bike, i love em

I ended up not using the extra adjustment arm when I installed mine. It sat my legs out a bit too far. I found that height wasn't an issue anyway and the angle could still be adjusted from the male adapter and the board itself. I like the fact that there is the "option" of using that adjustment arm but no "need" to have it in place in order for it to work

I posted a few photos and description of how I installed Softail floorboards on my '05 FXD at https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...na-photos.html.

I felt about like you sound ... I had tried 'stirrups' (heel rests) with my forward controls ... helped some, but still a little dissatisfied ...

After having ridden a few bikes with floorboards, just thought to myself: man, that is way more comfortable ... I should get me some of them ...

So I did ...

i did the same thing you did, didnt use the adjustment arm, i had no problem with the toe angle front to back but i wanted the boards to actually toe in towards the bike a little instead of sitting flat. this way i can put pressure on the boards, my feet dont try to slip outwards and it keeps my knees in, so much more comfortable now.

+1 on the pegs with heel rests and +1 on the combined mid and forward pegs for changing leg position on long trips. Has anyone with floorboards noticed an issue with reduced lean angle? When I initially put the pegs with heel rests on the mid controls, I was having issues with scraping the pegs due to the slightly longer peg length, so I switched them up to the front/highway position and put the stock pegs back on the mids. I imagine footboards in the forward position might not have as much of an issue with scraping as footboards in the mid position?

Floorboard scraping can be a little unnerving the first time ...

After that, you just learn when to expect it or to compensate a little to avoid it ...

I found that the floorboards cut into my lean angle a little, but for me the small trade off is definitely worth it ....

* * *

One of the previous posts mentioned something about some floorboards don't look 'right' or whatever ... I kind of felt that way too ...

That was one of the reasons I went with the Softail boards ... it is the MoCo's OEM design for Softails, so they have a 'factory' look to them and its not that hard to find the parts ... there is a plethora of aftermarket boards, shifter levers, brake pedals, chrome, black, etc., etc. that can be used depending on taste and personal preference ....

I would recommend these as well. Made a huge difference for me over pegs alone.

I purchased my Dyna for one reason for not having floorboards. I do love the look and comfort to my heel rest.
