in need of a shorter kickstand for my 06 FXDBI. Are there other scoots that will work or aftermarket stands? Having a little trouble finding anything on the matter.
wow man how much did you slam it? mine is dropped 2 in in back and 1.5 in frnt and i stil have the stock stand no problem... you can chop a section of the stop plate on the stand and that will give you a bit extra lean if you are worried... what all did you do to the bike to need it lower?
Someone posted in the under $50 buck thread about how to shorten your current stand. JP Cycles has a 1" under stand and some other aftermarket company that I can't remember right now. http://www.jpcycles.com/Search/Produ...ber&results=10
I was assuming I was going to need one. I installed the Burley slammer kit. It's 2 1/2" rear, 2" front. Plus, I have a 1" lower block in the rear so I'll be 3 1/2 in the rear. It's still on the bike lift so I haven't tried setting on the stand yet.
Grind about 1/4" off the tab that contacts the frame on your kickstand. That will allow your bike to lean over a little more. Super easy to do if you have a lift and a grinder.

just a thought......have you considered how you are going to get it off the lift with 3 1/2" out of the clearance? probaly need to drop it on to some 2X6s or sumthn.......
how did you go 3.5 in back and not hit your fender? my shocks are set at the tighest they can go and i still hit, i had to re wire the entire back end of the bike through the struts, when you ground that out you will loose all lighting on the bike, ya fun times... 3.5 is just too much unless you have a aftermarket fender or you have cut your rails... may as well strut it
