Im trying to choose cams, Im looking at these, any suggestions? No head work.
Woods:
TW-6-6 20/40 240 .510 .191 Bolt in street/touring. Very strong from idle through 5500 RPM =$390.00
42/18 240 .510 .173
I'm running the 37's without headwork, I was thinking I might have been better with the 26's but that changed after I regeared with the 30T pully. I'm very happy with how my bike runs but I do plan on a 103 w/headwork in the near future.
we`ve had real good luck with the Dyna`s(9.4-1, 95") with the andrews 44,good mid-upper range cam, lighter bikes dont really need the lower end cams of the heavier bikes

why no headwork? if you are going to do it do it right bud, it is an extra 600 for good head work done. Hell Chad has had my Cams for almost 3 months now, i am waiting till i can pop the extra $ for the heads to get the full benifit out of the cams... i am a big fan of do it right, do it once!
Ditto.... You will be amazed on what you can squeeze out of them with a few more $$$$$

I went with the SE204's. I talked to Woods about TW6-6 and he wanted me to put a 4* sprocket on because I wasn't doing the heads or bumping up the compression. The 204's have a wicked idle. Dyno'd 92 hp and 98 ftlbs. Also put on the 30 tooth Andrews pulley.
I was running the SE204 cams in my 1550 WG, and the performance was excellent. Nice thing about the 204's is almost a 'drop in' application that works very well with stock heads, compression and valve springs. From what I recall peak horsepower was in the 5,700 RPM range. I believe the spec's for the SE204's are 508/508 on the lift, and 236/240 duration.
I'm already running higher compression JE 10.25:1 forged pistons and wanted to try something a little more radical, so we recently had the heads worked and installed the SE258's along with performance springs and adjustable pushrods. I believe the spec's on the 258's are 569/569 lift and 258/258 duration.
Because of the miserable weather we have been having for the past couple of weeks I haven't had a chance to ride the WG very much with the new setup, but it seems to be VERY healthy.....
