should i get bob??

just joined the forum, been riding sporty 883 for about year and half and wanted to "upgrade" to a bob, i really like the handling of the sporty but was concerned on the handling of the bob, i know the scoot will he heavier, but anyone have opinion of any dramatic difference of "ajusting" from a sporty to a bob?? i have extreme confidence in my ability on the sporty, but i guess i do not want to buy something that will be drastically different,, thanks rambo

I went from a 1200 Sporty to a Bob and after a couple days it was like the Sporty never existed. By the way, good choice for you to put the term 'upgrade' in quotes. I got flamed in my first post here when I UPGRADED... [sm=bangbang.gif]

i rode a buddies sportster and then rented a wide glide before i bought my bob. could not be happier with the bob. 2500 miles in just about 2 months. i was hesitant because of the price when compared to a sportster but in the end i made the right purchase IMO.
try renting one at a local dealership if you want to be sure as it is a big investment. thats what sold me.

The bob is one fine handling machine, you can whip it around with ease.

The Bob handles just fine, and is one of the lighter heavyweights.

Just say away from the denim color. It flakes off real fast.

I know exactly how you feel, I traded my '03 883 in on my Bob, and I too was a little leary, at first, then I took a Bob for a test ride, and there was no turning back. The Bob handles almost as tight as the smaller Sporty, but the differance in power, and comfort out weigh anything else you could say. I have never regreted my decision, it my seem daunting at first, but you will adapt.
