I did that on my '08 Fat Bob. I didn't like the seam, so I added this cover piece. It is off of an '08 Wide Glide, but since they share the same tank it fits just fine. Don't know why they won't list it with the other FXDF parts. It's plastic (though they call it chrome), and I intend to paint it black along with the console at some point.
