Default Fat Bob tank panel question...

I got an '08 Fat Bob and I think the HD leather tank panel piece, that ugly thing between the seat and the speedomter/console looks ridiculous.

Talk about not matching and throwing off the looks of the bike.

Is there any place where I can buy a chrome tank panel to replace that leather strap. The only ones I've seen are for other Harley models.

Has anyone ever seen a chrome replacement tank panel for a Fat Bob for sale?

Thanx a lot, I really need to take that damn thing off but its been about a year and still I haven't seen one anywhere.

have not seen any yet, which buggs the sh** out of me. When are they going to come out with a better looking sissy bar?

Where and how much did you pay for the floor boards?

I agree with you both I don't like the leather bib either. I have been looking at the 2008 Wide glide tank and console and comparing that to the Fat bob. They look the same to me! I was going to look into part numbers for the two consoles to see if they were in fact the same or not. If they are I was hoping that the chrome panel extension 71282-04 for the 08 WG would work. Heck for $50 (can) I may just order it and give it a go.

The 2009 CVO Fatbob panel looks awesome. I wish we could buy them.

What is under the leather? Is there more tank there, or is there a big gap?
If I get my tank custom painted I want to remove that all together.

I'm thinking about stitching this leather pouch on somehow or modify it to completely replace the stock one. I figure it's a good winter project while the bike's laid up....

I just threw it over the stock one and snapped a picture see how it would look.

I boughta bib for a softtail with the pouch on it on ebay for 20 bucks, I dont like the patch between the seat and tank, but at least it is usable now and I can tolorate until something better comes along...

I agree, I really like the floor boards on your Bob

71282-04 That panel extension will work on the Fat Bob. I have one on mine and it looks a lot better to me than the warped leather bib. Sorry, no pictures yet. It's a chrome plastic panel with a rubber gasket and hardware. You have to remove the seat and the dash to remove the leather bib and install the new panel.
