If I remember correctly, when the Evolution motor first came out it was referred to as a "blockhead", then later was called "Evo". Does that sound right Mud?

Just like the '66-'69 motors were "shovelheads" and '70 ('71?) up to the Evos were "cone motors"

I've heard the terms Twinky, Fathead, and Blockhead all referring to the Twin cam motor, seen it in magazines too. I prefer Blockhead.

Ya +1 on the Blockhead, or Fathead. Twinkie sounds a little light in the a$$-end to me. JMHO Fuzz

I agree on that! Where does Twinkie come from?? There's nothing that looks like a twinkie. But changing Twin to twinkie. At least call them the Twins, but twinkie...Someone had to be stoned!!
+1 "Twin Cam" is two syllables, hence "Twin-kie" I have no intension of refering to my motor as a twinkie!

Right - I move that in future anyone referring to the Twin Cam as a "Twinkie" is banned forthwith from this forum.....It's a bit girly isn't it?. Not that there's anything wrong with being girly - if you are one, but I'm a hairy assed biker dude for goodness sake. I can't go around telling everyone I ride a "Twinkie" - they may get the wring idea!

I quite like Blockhead.

It's a derogatory term coined by Shovelhead owners

The early Shovels are "Slabsides" or generator Shovels. The later are "cones" or alternator Shovels.
