Default Original HD wire guides

I am trying to re-route the turn signal wires. On the handlebars are the original plastic wire guides that seem to be attached to the handlebars. Do these have to be cut or is there some way that I cannot see that the wires can just be taken out of the loop there in? If they have to be cut how are they replaced?

thanks

I've got a 06 streetbob and if you're referring to what I think you are the little black round plastic clips, they have a notch on both ends that insert into the holes in the handle bar. The notch acts kind of like a lock, once the notch goes in the hole it prevents it from coming back out. You can get em back out, by twisting and manipulating, but if you are not careful or after a time or two of this you will disfigure the notch so it won't stay in the hole anymore. I just bought new ones from hd, I think they were about a buck a piece, for 4 or maybe there is 6 total. Hope that helps

just grab and pull, you can pop them back in after you are done, auto parts stores also carry a simular plug if you need them

They do not have to be cut when you want to take them out. Here's an image:

You can try to get them out by using a pair of pointed tweezers. Put the tweezers into the hole and squeeze the pins of the wire clamp and pull it out gently.

In case you have damaged the clip, the p/n is 70345-84

or have chrome ones ordered at Narley's
