question about removing triple trees for powdercoating??
hey guys, just wanted to see if anyone can let me know if i need any special tools to remove triple trees? hd service guy told a buddy of mine we needed to remove ignition lock to do this, which requires a special tool. looking in my manual, didnt see any reason why you'd have to remove that. anyone had any experience with this?
oh and just in case you do decide down the road (you don't here for triple tree removal), remove that ignition lock on the fork, I conveniently saw in my hd service manual a handy tool with two or three **** (can I say that on here ) that spins the collar off the igntion assembly which is located behind that pretty little round placard (ign/acc/start/off etc).
BLA, you don't need it, I used a pin punch and gave it a slight tap, it rotated around and off from there, just food for future thought.
Depending on the Jack you dont need to do anything, I took 2 front ends off of touring bikes last winter and never supported the rear tire. I have a JS jack
