Like others have mentioned check your oil level, could be starving your lifters for oil/oil pressure. Have you recently installed a windshield? If so, there will be dead air right in front of you to the windshield and you WILL notice more engine noises. Are you close enough the dealer can pick it up to go over it?
I run N.O.S. octane booster and Marvel Mystery Oil. This improved the situation greatly. A fuel management system will be next, but 93 octane at the pump just didn't cut it.
You need to be carefull with fuel additives, some can crap up the o2 sensors. I'm not familiar with NOS octane boost but if it's labeled for fuel injection you should be good.
Do a search, there are plenty. On here as well as the entire 'net. I first switched to Syn3, and it was horrible. Then went with Amsoil, Red Line & Mobil 1 V-Twin, all with better results, but still with unacceptable amounts of top end noise. Finally switched back to dino oil, and noise is "normal".
One does have to remember that these engines are not technological wonders of advanced engineering, and are going to make noise. My lawn mower is more high tech than these things are.

+1 Went back to dino oil. Was tired of listening to the valve train. It's much quieter now.

I don't notice any with my 88" WG, but I notice a fair amount of clatter with the 96" Road King I just resurrected. There's a lot of "clatter-talk" on the Touring forum; seems to be more common there, and a lot of folks blame the compensator. Mine is most noticeable under medium acceleration. If you can rule out octane/detonation, you probably don't have anything to worry about.
