Default detachable vs rigid sideplates

Am trying to decide between the detach and the rigid backrest set up for the SG. I plan on having it on most of the time but it would be nice to have the option to remove it. I am also not too crazy about the turn signal relocation kit because I know it changes the turn signal posts and I like the way they look now. I am aware of notching the rigid plates but anyone have any pluses or negatives to consider with the detach setup?

I love my detachable stuff. It's great not to have it on all the time.

Notch the rigid ones and they come off easily.

You can always look into the Kury Plug-n-Play. Doesn't have anything to do with relocating the rear signals, which seems to be a plus for you.

Wouldn't trade my detachable for anything now. No issues with it. Not long after I got my bike I went into a shop to buy the detachable setup and I let some wet behind the ears kid talk me out of it and into the rigids because of the difference in the turn signal stalks that the OP talks about. I hated it. I didn't want a sissy bar on my bike all the time. So I took the money hit and swapped it out for the detachables and installed myself. Not that hard to do. And the signal stalks is not that bad, especially when you don't see the original stalks to compare them too, if you know what I mean. Sure, you can notch the rigid setup but I really like my solo setup and found myself throwing on a 2-up seat and sissy bar just so I could carry a bag sometimes without looking ridiculous with the solo seat and sissy bar. Then I found the detachable solo rack that fits the same detachable setup. No way to notch that to fit. I don't regret the detachable stuff at all. Wouldn't have it any other way.

I like the detachable, It works good. It used to Rattle when I'd rev the motor but I wraped the attachment points a small amount of elect tape and it fixed it.
