I installed the Harley version (#36808-05 )on my wife's 03 Heritage and it definitely reduced the amount of pressure required for the clutch lever. It was an easy install (about 45 minutes).

IMO the best easy pull clutch is as stated above, the Harley kit with the reduce effort clutch pack spring and the new ramp assy. I hate those burlybike things. I take em off bikes all the time.

This is definately one area where H-D got it right with the easypull kit. Thats the only true way to reduce effort without crazy contraptions to give you more leverage and still dont work as well as the H-D kit

on the harley kit, where does the clutch spring go? Does it require the clutch plates to be taken apart or is the whole kit installed behind the clutch cover where the cable goes?

The new ball ramp assy is installed behind the tranny cover on the right side and the spring is the diaphram spring installed in the clutch pack. To install the spring you will have to pull the outer primary and use a compressor tool to compress the stock spring to remove it. Sounds like a lot of work but its pretty simple if you can get ahold of the tool to do it.

The HD easy clutch kit works very well but be aware that it will cause the clutch's to eventually slip if you have a built motor. Another thing some people are not aware of is if the clutch cable has a plastic (PVC) liner then it shouldn't be oiled. Oiling can cause the clutch lever to be harder to pull.

I installed the Burly type kit and it reduced the pull tension by about 50%.
