I finally got my 2006 Street Bob back from the Dealership today. The good news is... The MOCO picked up the entire bill for the Inner Primary Issue and they also covered the Stator and Stator Rotor up grade. I would call this the "Ultimate Full Monty". lol
Hi guys, my stator/rotor just disintigrated! i knew of the tranny problems in 2009 jan and gotta fight with the stealers to get it changed. they didnt wanna do it coz they said my 2yr warranty was over! but with the findings and info i got from you guys, i managed to got the change for free!
but i never expect now my stator spoilt on me. 7 of the 8 screws came loose, and the last one cant take the stress and broke off by itself. i thought everything was fixed the last time round! now i am gonna call harley usa straight and try to see if they can get harley singapore to replace my stators! wish me luck!
here are the pics. please exercise care when viewing them. parents advisory recommended!
First of all I would like to thank everyone that posted on this thread. I have an 06 Wide Glide, was starting to hear noise that as discribed on this forum appeared to be the inner primary bearing, then the rotor let go. I called Harley CS both were bad and am taking it to the dealer and they assigned a case number.
The dealer diaignosed the bike before taking it appart and told CS that only the stator was bad. I was also told that Harley would not pay for it. I said I want the bearing changed anyway. Guess what, the bearing was bad also. I paid $765 for the repairs. but I told the dealer to call CS again and tell them that the bearing was also bad and I want them to pay for it. I got a call today, I will get a refund for all but $100. The replacement rotor and stator are the ones that end with -07 they came in a kit that ends with -06B, can't remember the first part of the numbers.

Call HD Cust Serv 404 343 4056 explain issue,
they gave me ref# took bike to dealer, MoCo cover all parts, I end up paying labor $292. all was $560. Good Luck
The area code = 414 (Milwaukee), not 404 (Atlanta).
My local dealer acted like they knew nothing about it...I asked them the reason for switching to a welded design months later all I got was a shoulder shrug! All I could think about was the glass case under my arms breaking in a million peices...I bit my tounge & never went back to that dealer. I hear some are recognizing & taking care of the issue but most are not! I bought my own, not overly pricey...think around 200 or so, don't remember off hand! Now that this is fresh in my head...those fu**ers wouldn't even give me a discount on the welded set up, NOTHING! Hows that for taking care of the guy that bought a bike from ya! A**holes!
Sounds pretty common, the sales department reels you in then service treats you like ****. The MOCO should pay attention to these fourms..
