I don't think a tru trac will work with that year of Dyna . The motor & tranny is mounted completely different and thus not needing a chassis brace . Plus I think that the FXDX has four motor mounts as opposed three that regular Dynas have , and it really aides in stability .
I don't know where you get all that from! I have owned my 03 FXDXT from new and fitted the TT myself. The rubber mounts are the same as all other Dyna models and there are two of them, one in front of the engine, the other under the gearbox. The only stabilizer fitted stock is between the heads.
The TT transformed my Dyna, just as it did on my Glide.
I agree with GBbrown there are no frame differences between the fxdx and other dynas. I am going to see how the bike runs with the upgrades I have planned so far. Like I said earlier I didnt see much if any difference from the missing link on my SG.
On a side note GBBrown I see your from the UK, I spent quite some time there on business. Beautiful country, I was in Bedfordshire for a while. It must be fun riding on a bike
FXDX already had a good engine mounting system. If you are getting any handling or stability issues check the mounts before you try anything else. They do wear out, or if someone spilled engine oil it can make the rubber weak.
I agree the bike is a great platform, frame wise no different than any other dyna (outside of rake). My goal with this build is handling and power, so far the power part is taken care of.

Which is where I live! I can guess where you were staying - my sister met her husband there! It is cold and very wet today, not good biking weather, with snow forecast tomorrow.

A TT kit will help you there and I see you have great tyres on your list!
Small world, I stayed an a hotel that was an old castle. Did she meet him in the bar at the hotel? That was a great place. The roads were very close to what we have in the Northeast. Riding season is pretty much over up here, we have salt covering the roads.

Small world indeed. I will have to put my thinking cap on about that castle. By Northeast I take you mean New England?!
The hotel was right next to the river and near downtown. I am a new englander, the funny thing is I never see fxdx's on the road. However 2 of my friends have them.
