On ebay every harley for sale has never been dropped or never been in the rain. I slipped in some oil at a gas station and dropped my FXDC - had engine guard and on two ten hour road trips I have ran into some heavy rain. Do they not ride or am I that unlucky?

me thinks some people fib a tad bit.
"never been dropped..." <-- yeah then why mention it, why not just show tons of pics of the bike. i would want to see the grip ends, hand control ends, bag guards, bags, foot controls and very detailed pics of the rest of the bike. on Fuel Injected bikes, i believe they throw an engine code if the bike tips while running. how long do the codes stay in cycle?
I believe that some people's bikes have never seen rain. Not mine, but mine will never, ever be as clean as some that I see. That's just not why I have mine. I could care less about rain, as long as I've got my raingear that is
Well, i have a Honda Shadow id like to sell off, and the only thing that has touched the ground is the tires and kickstand..truely. But it has been rained on many many times.
My brand new Harley...well sad to say i pulled it out of my shed, had to cross the yard and the ground had thawed out and gotten soft, the front tire slipped right out from under it, down we went..thank God it was just soft dirt and mud so I was able to clean it off pretty easy and no scratches. I was expecting something to be scratched and i was pissed at myself for a boneheaded stunt, i got lucky.
Even if a bike was dropped, what's the big deal? Unless something punched a hole in a case, it's easy to replace any scuffed parts. Now if you have bent forks, frame or wheels that would be cause for concern. Rain? We talkin' about rain! (that's my Allen Iverson imitation). Rain is water, dirty maybe, but only water. Last summer I rode 3 weeks straight without getting in the rain, and when I washed it it was filthy underneath anyway.
On the first bike i had (99 ninja zx6r) i pulled up to a friends house there was fresh asphalt and the kickstand went right threw it and over the bike went broken clutch lever mirror scraped the frame slider and the passenger grab rail replaced all parts **** looked like new again
I have an 06 Street bob that has never been dropped or ridden in rain.I have a 2000 Suzuki that also has never been dropped but was ridden rain or shine five days a week for 6 years. The difference is in 2006 I bought a truck and I won't ride in the rain again if I can avoid it.
