Default Issues with warranty.

I purchased my FXDF on November 20, 2007. I love this bike and with few exceptions, it has done me very well. One of my main issues has been with the front end clunk. I first took the bike in for warranty service on 1/23/08, Work order for "front end clunk" resolution was "adjust steering head bearings". This "warranty work" cost me $37. (not a large sum)@4072 miles
Two months later same issue, I had HD change fork oil to heavier weight, $67 (still not a large sum).@8753 miles 03/28/08

Next, 05/15/08-@12492 miles- "adj steering stem" $40
Next, 06/17/09 @ 39726 miles- "fork lock loose-no charge.
Next 11/04/09 @ 45000 miles "chk over steering head knock" $36.89
Next 11/11/09 @ 45727 miles "courtesy chk (wheel bearings, I have had 4 go out they had to replace two complete rear wheels on their dime)
"Suggest new front tire-Front end clanks over bumps- Tighten all critical fasteners, Fall away adj-Recommends fork rebuild and steering rebuild-(they didn't tell me that and I didn't look at the work order.
Next 12/17/09 @ 47833 miles-"Courtesy chk-Front end rattles over bumps-Called Tech service-Recommend steering head rebuild and fork rebuild"

And the kicker-Not covered under warranty-Should be paid service item, they want me to pay the (not unreasonable) $400

So I called corp today, they SEEM to agree with me, Customer service said " And they said it wasn't warranty because of what???
I should hear back Monday, wish me luck. $400 isn't exactly going to break the bank, but since this has been an issue since the bike was for all intended purposes new, I really am having a hard time accepting as fair that I pay the tab.
I have had a few serious warranty issues with this dealer but they have till this point taken pretty good care of me and I really like the crew. I hope this doesn't leave a bad taste in my mouth. Total on this issue to date, Not including a few trips to the INDY=$180.89- Not a lot but for...??
Just a rant.

wow that front end has been a real problem. Moco will sort it out. I wonder if maybe you should try another dealer if it is at all feasible for you. Just seems to me they can't figure it out. On my wide glide(41mm) the clunk is remedied by torquing top nut to 60ft/lbs instead of the old recommended 40ft/lbs.

Its not looking good with HD, I'm going to be extremely disappointed if they don't step up to the plate! And I don't like to be disappointed. I will probly end up paying to have it fixed (sure as hell wont be paying HD) since I have done most of my own maint for the 48000 miles I have on it. And the money I saved on maint will many times pay for this fix even if it does feel like they forget to AT LEAST spit on it.
They may wonder why they don't do my maint but they have not seen it for anything less than warranty since the 1st rear brake job where they only put one bolt back in and the rear brake almost fell off ( I put a piece of balling wire on to hold it on the 20 miles back to the shop, I wasn't near home closer to HD.
I'm not pissed yet.
