I think the small hd quarter fairings look great on dynas. My question is what type of wind protection do you get from them? I had a ness fairing on an fxr years ago and liked it pretty good. I don't really care for the turbulance of standard windshields and am looking for something that "cuts through the wind" if that makes since.
The Quarter Fairing definitely helps with the wind blast and takes the wind off my chest. With just the fairing I would start getting wind on my shoulders. Adding the Laminar Lip brought it higher and cut down but not eliminated the wind to the face. For reference I am 6'3". Obviously this does little for heavy cross-winds.
I agree with icecaps. It doesn't block much wind to the face, but it does keep it from blasting you in the chest. Everyones tastes are different, but I too think it looks great on a Dyna. I've gotten some negative comments from others, from "Why do you want to make your Harley look like a sportbike?" to "Why do you want to make your Dyna look like a Sportster?" In the end, it's what you think that really matters.
those look great. I am wanting something to take aliitle of the wind off my chest and it sounds like these fairings do that. I am 5'8" and almost always wear a fullface. Do you think that fairing would work good for me to block some wind?
I am also glad to see it can be modified to fit that front end. I am on an 06 superglide
06 superglide, 5'8" rider, full face = no worries. wind is off your chest and the rest you can manage with a full face. Just now you notice how cold your arms are.... lol.
