for the longest time i wanted to black out my bike but lately i've come across a look that i think i might like even more then "blacked out". i saw a bike that was silver but they had blacked out all the chrome parts. i thought that looked f'ing awesome. i started thinking how cool it would be to have a red bike that had its chrome blacked out. kind of like the old 50's trucks that had red bodies and black fenders and grills. does any one out there have this style paint job on their bikes? i'd like to see more of this and maybe get some inspiration. right now i have a denim black 09 street bob (silver engine). I always liked the red and black but I think other color combinations would look just as good (so long as one of the colors is still black).
Well you're easily swayed. lol Personally, I think red looks like **** with black accents. Red really favors chrome or color matching from what I've seen.

Hey, don't sugarcoat it - tell it like it is..! I agree with you 100 percent. Red doesn't favor black accents at all.

Man, that seems to be getting popular around here. I think its going the wrong way for sure. I hope theres a FEW of us left that actually like chrome on brand new motorcycles.
to each their own i guess. i was never a big fan of chrome. i like a to have a small amount or nothing. i never liked those bikes that are basically all chrome and hardly anything else. but that doesn't mean i don't apprecite the bikes out there that are able to balance both.
anything you do, you're going to need a splash or two of chrome to break everything up.
my bike is going to be pretty much blacked out, but i'm going to leave my pipes, gas caps, and spokes chrome to give the eye something else to look at.
red with black accents would look cool i think, if done tastefully. just dont totally abandon chrome, something on the bike has to shine!
