Not to derail this thread, but any idea why the dealer would think I have an aftermarket ECM when they tried to program my new fob? I was in Myrtle and lost my fob. Bought a new one and dealer service dept got me right in. Tech came out and said "you have an aftermarket ECM in that CVO?" I said no. Power vision tuner, but it's in Ohio. He said huh, I can try a different way. Then a little bit later I was riding away.

If the Tech is using the dealer's Digital Tec II, he should be able to know when a bike has different ECM....
Besides, I believe the FOB serial number is added & stored in the TSSM on older bikes and in the BCM with the newer CanBus bikes, not in the ECM...
But to be fair, I have never used a Digital Tech II. I only have experience with a PowerVision Tuner, the Centurion Pro, and also with a Daytona Twin Tec, Twin Scan II.
