Hey guys, I have an 02 FXD Super Glide. I really hate the Headlight and speedo with the visor set up on this bike. I just think it's ugly. (see first pic). I would like to replace the headlight with something that looks nice, and has no shroud or visor or whatever that thing on top of the light is called. I noticed that the stock speedo will mount right on the handle bar with the risers but it would stick up to high and look out of place there. So does anyone know how I can mount a new headlight on this thing that dont have the visor? I thought about just drilling into the lower triple tree and mounting a light there. But that will leave the area where the old light mounted exposed and looking ugly. (see second pic) I hope my only option is not to buy new triple trees. Also I would like to just replace the speedo with a digital one. I think they just look cool. Does anyone know where I can get one that will just plug right in to my current wiring and mount to the handlebars? Any ideas of what I can do to make this headlight speedo thing look nice would be greatly appreciated. I hate the way it is now!

Search Google using the words "harley digital tacho" and you'll find several options...none of them however are "plug and play"

Search the Dyna Glide Models forum for "speedo relocation" and you'll find 44 threads on this subject (see attachment)... Have fun reading the info!

You shoud have bought yourself a WideGlide or a LowRider... These models have the tacho mounted on top of the fuel tank.... Possible solution: Search Ebay and swap the current FXD tank!
Your problem doesn't require a whole lot of ingenuity. If you want a bottom-mount headlight, drill the lower triple tree. It's not all that difficult to grind off the visor tabs on the top tree. Digital speedo/tachometers are made by several different manufacturers, Dakota Digital probably being the best. Here is a link to one I have for sale: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/motor...cv-7100-a.html
Just saw someone's bike yesterday when looking at photos who had mounted the stock speedo on the lower left side of his tank ... just forward of the horn ... looked like some kind of homemade/fabbed bracket .... Cleaned up the top of the bars ....
I drilled my lower triple tree and installed a $30 chrome 5 3/4" 'chopper' style headlight ... nothing too fancy, but served my purpose ....
Also, there is a chrome cover that comes on the 1200 Custom (Sportster) that covers that gap in the front of your upper triple tree .... I don't have the part number ... it bolts right where the visor holes are ....

Edited to add picture below ... this isn't the one I was thinking of, but is similar (this one is on a 883 Iron, I believe, owned by a forum member 'lee') ...
If I come across the original photo I referenced, I'll post it up ....
