A nice fatbob with taller black shocks(12.6 or 13"), leatherpro bags, black fatcat. Maybe a Ness fairing can be custom cut for the dual lamps, or a ness fairing with a single streetbob headlight. Pretty awesome to me. Oh yeah, speedo/tach combo.

Bingo! Dual Brembos up front and some good tires already, all it's missing is some bags and better suspension. That bike would be a FXDX killer!
I built my own: 07 fxdb, with 01 fxdx shocks, V-rod fork internals, aftermarket tach, Ironbags, Metzelers, SE pipes, S&S filter and AC, Corbin solo with back rest...wears out pegs, though. Only thing missing would be second brake: not needed.
They'll never bring it back....the yuppies just never got it. I kept dreaming of them bringing the FXR back and they never did.
I took an 08 streetbob and made my own new version of the FXDX...as close as I could get anyway. I even have a set of T sport bags for it that I scored for 100 bucks.
We can all keep dreaming that they'll bring bikes back with a purpose...who knows...maybe one day.
Holy ****!!! Where in the world did you score T sport bags for 100 bucks? They're goin for 900 these days... Right place at the right time I guess.
About the DX's, I love em, and would never trade mine for anything else.. (maybe a clean FXR)
Your best bet is to build your own.The FXDX was nothing more than a basic FXD with a nice fully adjustable long travel suspension. So what you do is buy a bottom of the line FXD as cheap as you can and throw fistfulls of dollars at the suspension.Me personally, if I wanted to go fast on a Harley I'd get a Sportster and cafe the Hell out of it.Or get a late model Buell for less money than either one.

SOOOOO not true.
the second brake pad is the best feature on the bike... yeah its not needed till its needed.
Thats why good advice is better than hindsite... never underestimate the power of the second pad.

Gotta agree here. My brakes felt pathetic stock, and now I'd consider them so-so Of course my last bike was a Yamaha FZ1 that has some of the best stock brakes I've ever tried.
