Sorry, but if someone can't tell what kind of bike their looking at, who cares? But, that's just my opinion.
I just think it looks right with the emblem on all bikes not just Harleys. It looks to me like you are trying to hide something by taking the emblems off just like the jap riders try to hide that their bike is a Jap bike by taking the emblem off. Of course they aren't fooling anyone. Just my opinion though.

i agree to a certain extent.
even though i don't have emblems on my tank, i think that bikes with stock HD paint need some sort of emblem, otherwise they just seem to be missing something.
get a nice paint job, though, and unless the emblem is incorporated into the art, it usually looks better to leave it naked
Since you're asking our opinion, I like the having a tank emblem, but only if it looks good. I didn't like the look of the HD emblem on my 09 SuperGlideCustom. I took it off and I found a replacement (on ebay) that goes nicely with the paint. I get a lot of nice compliments of its look.
Personally, I also don't like the safety stickers on the front frame/bar and took it off.

Yes and the replacement does look good ..but you did want to replace it right?..not have it bare?

Correct....I wanted to replace it. I looked at many emblems on older HD's and there were two that I really liked. One was the red "tear drop" on older Heritage Springer. The other is the one I got. It was an original red emblem on a Softtail Classic. Kept searching ebay until it appear and I bid on it (about $40).
I have attached a pic of the emblem on the bike from the other side....the pic is a little clearer than in my sig.
