I think it just depends on the style of the bike and the look you are going for.
Harley's come with tank emblems so they "should" have them by default. Just like a Corvette has the flag emblems on them. To some the Harley emblems are worn with pride in much the same way. Others prefer the streamlined look.
At this time I have mine off but did get a pair of badges from a new wideglide, yes they are plastic and will have to wait till I can get it outside to see if I will like them. I am kinda liking the naked look though. To each their own.
i agree for the most part,,only true bike people can tell a jap crap pile next to a hog both w no tank emblem,,and people do that,, but either way,,a hogs a hog
I agree with ED some of the retro badges are cool but like my Daddy always said, if it's a Harley, they'll hear it way before they see the Harley Logo...
I think that every bike is different. I like the ones that came on mine but there are others that look really cheap and tacky. HD does have a lot of cool looking retro emblems though.
