I never trust an advertiser as the best source of info for the advertiser's product. It's not like they're going to say anything bad about themselves, tell you a competing product is better than theirs, or admit their product doesn't live up to their claims.

this actually backs up what cycle-rama had mentioned to me(we were talking about the ngk plugs not the oil difference however). They are a high performance shop winning tons of HP shootouts. the actual #'s are so small as to not notice a difference on the street, however it is there on the dyno(which is why they run the ngk on bikes they set up for a shootout). Of course you don't have to trust anyone, I however believe it to be true, they did not perform the dyno runs, an independent company did.

Can't comment on the plugs, don't know the condition or gaps, but I would think any decent synthetic would provide equivalent gains over dyno oil, especially if the oils are not equivalent weight. I think there is a web site around that compared several full and partial synthetic oils over many more parameters and in more detail. If I recall there was not one oil that shined in all areas, so whats best for you depended on your driving habits what you think is important.

yeah, this is not to say that other synthetics do improve HP, most of what I found interesting is the NGK difference. As stated before I was told that they perform the best and the dyno runs show the improvement. So many have said plugs don't matter, etc... not true.

I am just glad I do my own work so I don't have to worry if someone sneaks garbage onto my bike. I have been an ASE certified technician for way too long to subscribe to some spark plug mumbo jumbo, however I do thinik it is cool that we are all Americans and you have the right to put whatever you want into YOUR bike.

I'm running the NGKs now too. Had them in for a while, couldn't tell any significant difference, took them out. Then found out that the T-Max doesn't have ION sensing so no loss / reason to keep using stock plugs. Haven't done a Dyno, can't tell seat of the pants either but still like them for a couple of reasons. First off I am sure that the materials will last longer than stock and I believe are less prone to fouling. I also like the fact that they come pre-gapped and I don't have to mess with that.
