Default ok i have a quick question.

Why do some people take the time to blur out or hide their license plate number when posting pictures?

they are public record. if i had your name i could pay a 15$ fee and find it and vise versa.

personally i plan on getting a custom one in November when i renew which makes that a little more pointless for me.

I don't think they are giving their name either, this is done to deter thieves. I don't worry about it, I could always use the target practice.

just i never got that part. not like i care if you come and try to steal her. i doubt youd manage

I was going to ask the same thing, I always wondered about that! Heck, someone could snap a pic of your bike in the parking lot and put it on the internet, so what? I think you are kidding yourself if you somehow think you are reducing theft risk. I'd guess you do a lot more dangerous potential harm to yourself every day with your browser!

peace of mind is all...

...some people just feel better NOT giving some ***** trolling websites for bikes to steal any information that could lead to their bike.

it's very unlikely i think but you know how we all are about our bikes...whatever gives us peace of mind is what we'll do.

it's also to protect someone's family as well...if someone comes creeping around your house, very quickly more than just your bike is at risk.
