Have to wear something in socialist Maryland so it's a cheap *** novelty helmet for me. I'm close to Gettysburg, PA though so I usually head up there to ride and take it off at the border.
Same here - only I'm in Northern VA. I ususally head north and take it off at the PA border too.

EDIT - Wife has a KBC full faced & Shoei modular as she likes her face more than I do mine...

Might sound like an odd request, but does anyone have an pics of the vegas xts actually on their head?? Just so we can see if there is any mushroom effect? Unfortunately, there aren't many places around where I live to try helmets on.
Full face, full time. Had a helmet save me twice in a crash (offroad) so I have never thought of not wearing one, although it is required here in Oregon.
I love the look of the little skid lids, but just haven't tried one. Maybe this summer when it's warm.
I've got a few......non dot novelty beanie is the one I wear most; I also have a dot carbon fibre beanie that isn't too mushroomy looking that I am trying to transition/get used to but it bugs me cuz it seems to catch the wind more than the novelty one; which is really annoying at highway speeds.
My third is a cheap HD full face I bought one cold rainy day as I was starting a long multiday ride. I wear it for long trips sometimes; especially if there's going to be a lot of interstate riding or if the weather looks dicey; pretty comfy and quiet so its nice on the longer rides (I dont have a windshield).
My next purchase is going to be one of those Biltwell 3/4 helmets; they look pretty cool and I think they might actually cut down on some of the wind noise over the beanie style lids.

Of all the 1/2 helmets I have tried/used, this one seems to fit/work the best. It's not a thin helmet like a novelty so there is the shroom' affect without a doubt. But, I can run 80mph without a shield and don't have the problem with 'lift' like I do with others. Even my novelty has to get puched back down while riding.
