non-dot novelty 99% of the time
picked up a DOT approved vega half helmet though which i only wear if i'm going to a rally or somewhere a road block is likely. ny highway cops LOOOOOOOVVVEEEE setting up a road block and rounding up bikers by the dozen. last summer they started impounding bikes if you couldn't produce a DOT helmet within a certain time frame.
here's the novelty i rock:

Novelty for me. Anything other hurts my neck. I even wear it when 30* out , with a face mask. Feels warmer than my snowmobile helmet. Got to please those masshole cops. I think it should be choice.

Hmm. I'll probably just look into the skid lid and some goggles then. The ****in dirt/dust/wind has been killing my eyes even with my oakleys on. I think my eyeballs have been sandblasted.

I always wear a full face lid. Either my Shoei XR1000 or my Arai Viper - that one's very patriotic with a big Union Jack emblazened on it. I value my bonce too much to wear anything less.......have you seen the standard of driving here in the UK? Not for the feint hearted, believe me!
