Default Observations

I've been a dedicated member of this forum for the past 4 years. Although my post count is low, I have been observing the forum for all this time pretty much daily and have come to the opinion that you have a few people who make radical modifications to their bikes while most pople sit back and critique their work. I don't say anything unless I se3 something that sparks my interest or is new. Personally I don't think anyone who hasn't drilled, cut, milled, or otherwise done modifications that require more than turning some bolts or screws has any right to say anything about someone's bike while they sit back and wait for the Motor Company to produce their next bolt-on modification. So for all of you out there without the ***** to do something that takes some thought to your personal ride this is a BIG F*CK YOU. Some of you at least have the manners to say that took ***** or nice work. For the rest of you who ask questions about the same bolt-on crap that has been beat to death, learn how to use the search function.

Did Somebody give you some negative feedback on one of your Mods?
Those that Post those Mods usually asked for an opinion/or are hunting for what people think.
And if it's posted and it looks like crap to ya why not said you don't care for it.
(He's going to get alot of posters that will always say it looks good anyway).
Why should the Poster be offended if he like it on his bike, he's the only one that matters.
That one of the reasons why it's called a forum.

No one needs to cut their fender in half to know if the like how a cut in half fender looks on your bike. If you throw something out for the world to see, it can only be because you *want* them to comment on it.

You may like **** soup, but I don't need to taste it to tell you it's not something I would like.

I think the OP is refering to this:
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...ml#post6116433
And to be honest, it looks like HAMMERED DOG ****, but that is just my take on it, if you like it go for it. The only person who has to dig your mods is you. The way I see it is if you can handle the remarks don't post up about your latest do-dads, problem solved!

I dont know nothing about anyones mods or the infighting that goes on here, not been around long enough.

But, just an observation...Every forum i have ever visited i always see someone who thinks everyone should "Use the search" to find info and quit asking the same question. but here is some thoughts from a guy who actually owns and runs his own forums.
Forums are places to Go ask questions and learn, or visit with like minded people, since all forums are themed to a specific subject, like Harley's.
If everyone used the search feature, eventually Everyone would quit posting, dont do much for traffic now does it, sooner or later it would be dead dead dead.
Any of my staff (and i know your not staff here) but any of my staff ever told my members to use the search feature, they would no longer be my staff, and i dont know i would allow them to stick around.

Anyone who has ***** to cut and modify things on their new bike, man, your brave. But personally, i have no intention of whacking up my 1st HD, and a brand spanking new HD just so i can be glorified in someone elses eyes that i dont know, cause i prefer my bike to continue to look good and not look like i trashed it, so i will stick to bolt ons, and i will continue to ask questions about them since i am new to owning an HD and you any anyone else can just get used to it.
Just saying.

It's just my opinion, but if someone wants to post a mod of theirs and doesn't want to receive any negative feedback about it they just need to say "I'm sensitive please be kind!"
I'm sure everyone would definitely respect their wishes!

An interesting opinion! I would observe that some contributors have very good knowledge which is worth paying attention to and we should give them A BIG THANK YOU! I belong to another Harley forum where the moderators award the good contributors with a symbol that shows others they are worth listening to. HDF could usefully do the same.

I cut my windshield down, the plastic belt guard and cut away portions of a brand new seat does that count? I would just relax not everyone is going to like what you do to your bike.

I know that mod looked like ****. I'm not thin skinned and I'm pretty sure I said it looked bad when I posted it. This thread had nothing to do with that post or the feedback I received. I appreciated it. What I am talking about is the 500 threads about the 20 different exhaust systems that are made for Dynas, or the 150 threads about stage one air cleaners and these topics continue to get beat to death. You can flame me all you want. I know who on the forum actually has useful info and usually PM when I have a question I can't answer by searching.
