Default DYNA Oil Coolers

What are you running? I know it's all opinion, but curious as to which may be better than others. I think this will be the last winter mod I do before riding season comes around. Brand, ease of install, quality, appearence, etc etc...

I haven't ran an oil cooler in years. Haven't had any problem. I change the fluids/filters regularly and so far, it seems to work.

I purchased Jagg's Number 4600 Offset Oil Filter Adapters which install between the engine and oil filter. Billet aluminum construction. I have the front mount oil cooler which mounts to the front two bolts of the engine mount. H D does not make a cooler for my 2005 FXDX any more. I believe I need this because my oil smells like it is burned. The head temperature must be heating the oil very hot. I believe the oil cooler plus my air cooling fan should help put a stop this. I would like to run cooling fan for about 5 minute after I shut motor off to cool the heads just like my Buell. I don't trust my battery. even with the compression release's.

I don't have one on my bike, but if I did it would be a Jagg.

Premium HD Oil Cooler here. The thermostat activates at 185°F (85°C) works well for me with engine mods I have done and the Texas summers can be a little warm.

Jagg oil coolers on both bikes. The cooler is mounted on the left down tube. There is an adapter between the oil filter and o/f mount. The 02 has been on for about 7 years and the 05's about 4 1/2 years.

I have the HD Premium on my '00 FXDX....works well, doesn't come on unless needed due to the built in thermostat, so no need to bypass or cover during winter.

I looked at Jagg but decided to go with the H-D part becuase everything you need is in the box. With Jagg you have to figure out what all is needed and order everything separately. The price wasn't much difference, and I didn't feel like doing all the research needed for buying the Jagg.

I found a discontinued Harley Davidson oil cooler that is made by Jagg on eBay. More info in the below link

Unfortunately, those types don't work with bikes with the EVAP Canister!
