RE: Another seat question (sorry)... Corbin vs. Mustang
Thanks to all that replied! It sounds like either one will work with my saddle bags, so for me, it will probably just come down to what style I like better. I have also been considering the HD Sundowner, and with the 20% off thru Chicago Harley, that may be the one that wins.

Brian
I've had a number of corbins and liked them dispite the firmness of them. I ordered a mustang quite a long time ago( 4 bikes ago) and had to reorder it again once the first one came in because of problems with the seat. After the second mustang came in, that one went back also and I got turned on to the corbin and have stayed with them ever since.
I have never had a problem with customer service as some mention. I ordered from the FLA. facility, maybe that makes a difference???
The quality of the corbin far surpases the mustang any day IMHO to offset the difference in price
RE: Another seat question (sorry)... Corbin vs. Mustang
if I wasn't completely happy, just return.
I called them today (Corbin) as I have been shopping seats for my 04 FXDL and expressed that I didn't really like buying something that expensive and really did not know if I would like the feel of it, could I return it the next day or so. They said, they do not except returns. Mustang said they will refund all monies paid, if return in 10 days.
RE: Another seat question (sorry)... Corbin vs. Mustang
I've had Corbin's before and in my opinion, they're a great seat and they were easy to deal with. As for returning a seat, I've never had to do it so I don't know. If Mustang takes returns, I wonder what they do with them. I wouldn't want to pay for a new seat and end up with one that somebody returned and the previous owner farted on...
RE: Another seat question (sorry)... Corbin vs. Mustang
I would think that they would probably recover it or sell it as a second. Small price to pay in the grand scheme of things to keep a customer happy. Make one customer happy and he'll tell a few folks. **** one customer off and he'll tell the whole world.
Me personally, I woudn't buy a seat without sitting on one on the same bike I have first. Saves a bunch of headaches and having to worry about returning a seat that I didn't like.

This is good reason to try to get to a major rally to shop. At most rallys there are several seat dealers, and they will put the seat on your bike to try. Corbin will let you try as many seats as they have available, will give you a pretty good rally discount, and ship your old seat home free.
RE: Another seat question (sorry)... Corbin vs. Mustang
First of all, thanks for posting. The b/f has to rig the pin on our currebt seat because it keeps sliding out and his a** keeps sliding backwards when he rides, plus its a single person seat so no room for me.[:@]
However, I can tell you I would be none to happy with him announcing that I would want "the wider a seat the better", lol. Even if is the case. I am so glad I am the computer literate one!
I was initially looking at the Mustang site and found one I liked. Nice and plain. Seats are seperate which we want. The only thing I couldn't ascertain was whether it is a side flip or not.
I am going to check out LaPera and Corbin as well. There is a bike event coming up around here in a few weeks so maybe we will bring her up and do the "comfort test"
