I priced a set of neck bearings at HD, went with All ***** instead, 1/2 the price
I checked here also but found no Harley Wheel Bearings.
Does anyone happen to have the "number" off the 1" bearings in an 06-07 street bob? I am trying to get all of the parts I need rounded up before disassembly of the bike/wheels.
I priced the bearings at something like $65 at the stealership ... went to my Indy shop and he quoted me $35 ... went with my Indy ... not sure what bearings he used ... he could be using the MoCo bearings without the stealer's markup (but, I doubt it) ....
As you've noticed from the other posts the short answer is yes you can use bearings from a source other than the dealer ... make sure they are 'sealed' bearings that match the axle you are using ...
I would look into Timken and Cr as they usually cover that application.
I'd give you the Timken part numbers for the neck but since your thread is about wheel bearings that would be useless to you. But man if you know you are gonna replace em, I'd yank them suckers and you will find a number stamped on there. I've got the hd parts book but that's only gonna give you a had pn not a actual bearing/race part number. I think my neck bearings were about 10 bucks a piece and that was with a race...Harley, don't know didn't even bother asking for another hecho in mexico bearing.
Every time I hear "hecho in" I think of a thread from many years ago on another forum where riders sold their wrecked gear as way to get donations for new clothing (Cute female riders always made out like bandits it seemed). There was a girl selling some jeans and a "a belt from the fine design house Hecho in India". Makes me laugh every time I see it.

Oh yea, haha. Although, growing up in Arizona, you see plenty of fine designs hechoing, lol.
Do I HAVE to buy the Harley bearings to replace my wheel bearings, or is there somewhere I can find all of the dimensions and just pick up some aftermarket bearings?
J&P Cycles All ***** Bearings part number 202-183 page 673 of the 2010 catalog for $24.99 set.
It's hard to believe the 1" bearings are $24.99 a set and the 25mm bearing set is $9.99.
