NOT, AND WILL NOT BE. I did not see any advantage to being a member, I hate meetings, hate group rides, have towing on my insurance, never read the magizine the put out. Dunno just makes cents to me to spend my $$$ elsewhere.
My membership came with the bike too, but I enjoy my local dealer chapter, so will renew my national membership next year in order to remain in the local chapter...
Got an extra year added when I bought the 09 FLHTC so I'm in until sometime in 2011. Don't belong to the local chapter and won't - more of a loner type and I hate group rides. I like the peace of mind of knowing I have an easy tow should I need it.
i think i am going to drop it when my subscription runs out. right now the only thing it is offering me is the 10% discount i got on parts at my harley shop.
my harley shop is closing its doors at the end of january (legends in roxbury nj) and i am not certain all dealerships apply the discount.
my insurance now gives me a free tow a year, and i also hate that magazine that HOG puts out now. they combined enthusaist & hog magazine into one 30 page glossy harley advertisement which i can usually breeze through in one sitting (if you know what i'm saying).
I only belong because of the local chapter, which also cost another $20 per year. Lotsa rides, (I only did about three last year. I ride alot by myself or a couple of other guys.) parties, and other activities, etc., etc. We usually end up with approx 1,000 local members every year and the chapter is very active. The national has no other benefits for me and I could care less about the magazines they send me, I dump 'em without opening the covers. I have all the benefits I need on my insurance.

Got it with the new bike.Don't know what to do next year as I already have breakdown with my insurance. So far,I don't think I'll bother.
Don't wear the patch or the pin.
I got mine with my 09. Had one when I bought my 2006 Ultra and never used it or renewed it. I got all the paraphernalia this time but no car with a number on it. I can’t create an account on their web site without a number so I don’t know what good it is. Have nay of you had this issue?
Hog sent me a renwal offer of two years for the price of one and I was tempted but other than the magazines I just dont use it. I dont thinks its worth it unless you belong to a local chapter, which I keep saying Ill do but never get around to it and I have AAA for my car and bike so Ill save the 40 bucks for something else...
