I recently renewed with HOG for $45.00, but I probably shouldn't have...I don't attend any Nat. rallies/events and my AAA plus card includes mc towing if needed.
It's gonna cost me another $24.00 to renew for the local HOG chapter and I only went on 2 rides with 'em last year, but it will include (I thinK) a reward points for $$$ spent at the dealer that can be used for any merchandise/ parts or labor.
I most likely won't renew for 2011...it's not worth it for me.
The dealer gave me a 1 year membership when I bought the bike, but I doubt that I will renew after the year expires. Just can't see the benefits for the price.
Also got my membership with the purchase of a 2010 Fat Bob - my All State insurance gave me 10% discount for being a member based on that I'd say I'll renew...
$450 annually for insurance? you need a new policy quote.
OK help me out! I have my insurance through progressive, good record, homeowner, married, blah blah blah everything else that should give me a good rate and its well more than 450 a year!! I have both my cars through geico and they still want more than progressive.
I just renewed mine - I am not a member of the local chapter but I like to attend the state rallies. Arkansas had an awesome rally - The Tenn rally not so good. It does give a reason for a road trip. I went to three HOG rallies last year and plan three this year.
Am having a tough time pulling the trigger this year... with the economy and all, I'm not seeing the value of one tow. How many of you Dyna Guys are HOG members?
It is steep, but with a 10-20% discount at the local dealer, I usually pay for HOG and the local chapter over the year.
In response to t Bone3, I have the Harley Insurance on my 09 Fat Bob which is underwritten by Dairyland Insurance. Mine is $340 per year, Geico quoted me almost twice that amount. The price you pay is largely determined by what part of the country you live in.
Membership with the new bike...won't likely renew when it's up, as they don't have a local chapter here (that I'm aware of). Closest one listed on the website is Japan.
There is one benefit, I get 10% off at the local indy with it but I don't spend enough to equal the cost. The magazine has suffered but momma likes the new atlas you get every year so I imagine she will continue to re-new.
