I can't believe with that kind of hp/tq that the regular drive belt would hold up. Usually when you get that kind of performance a lot of guys go back to the chain final drive. I'd love to have those kinds of numbers, but I just can't believe that the rest of the drivetrain would hold-up for very long with it.
These belts are unbelievably strong, my brother inlaw & another bud have had a Jim's 120" & 2 124" builds done by Mike Steggman out at Latus...all 3 builds making over 160hp & not one issue with the stock belts.
I've got a 117" built by Rosa's Cycles. We went with a chain drive since the belt would not stand up to the torque.
Bike has awesome power and a great dyno chart with no real dips in power. I've attached a copy.
Impressive build! I don't understand how the belt won't stand up to the torque though...these builds I spoke of all exceed the amount of torque your makin & not one of the three belts have ever had an issue & they beat the sh** out of em! Chain is obviously a good move, but I don't feel entirely neccessary!
Was thinking about throwing the stage IV on my SG when my winter lay-off is over. After seeing this kit, I may head in different direction. Of course that may require waiting until next winter.

I have read that many times...once you reach that 100/100 number, you risk the belts. I...personally think this is riding style. Maybe MUD can elaborate...but a clutch dump from a stand still is the hardest thing on a drive system. Drag racing, street racing....
but regular riding without dumping the clutch might help? Maybe I'm wrong...but I was limiting myself at those numbers due to reading that so much and not wanting a chain on this bike..what-so-ever!

I hear ya, used to think along these same lines...however Mike Steggman is a more than respectable builder & swears that a chain isn't neccessary even at the levels I mentioned above! Couldn't believe it myself, but I ride with these guys all the time & belive me nothing easy about the riding style...we could be cruisin at 50mph & he can drop a gear drop the clutch & lay easily 150ft of smokin rubber, f'n insane! This is on pump gas believe it or not! I've ridden each of them...words can't explain it! Back to the belt, LOL! 1000's of miles no probs, wouldn't hurt to replace the belts in the near future but seems to be a non issue!
i dont own one but once u get that big i am sure it wont last aslong as a stock 88 or 96 ...how many big motors u see going even 30k miles ? i know the big dogs and the iron horses dont cuz i know quite a few who owned them and sold them due to always in the shop for starters or other issues

Absolutely not, lol! They last no more than 10,000mi. Then they go through them (freshened up)! Both of them have a bike they can ride anywhere wtb a lesser build 95". It's deffinately a labor of love with these type of motors...not for many besides the sick & twisted, lol! Gotta love it! These bikes are a superglide, and two lowriders...all 3 are pre 06! Very evtertaining!
I am producing over 120 rear wheel horsepower and the only problem that I have had with mine was dumping the clutch from a dead stop and tire did not spin, instead went into the hop, this broke the drive belt. I have lite up the tire with no problems, but I prefer to launch at about 2500-3000 rpm, not spinning the tire and then go full throttle.
