I just received the kit today part #98965-99. In the instructions it says it is for 1999 and later Dyna TC88's. I am lowering my wife's '09 Street Bob this weekend with the Burly Slammer kit. I hope the parts get here by Friday! My question is will the lift adapters work on her '09 with the TC96? Is the frame the same as the older Dynas?
Any tips or advice from anyone who has used these adapters or installed this lowering kit would be great. I have the yellow Sears aluminum motorcycle jack.
What ever you do do not leave the bike on them in a garage during the summer months. The orange and black parts are only glued together and will seperate and shift when the glue warms up. Mine was on the jack for two days and the second day I noticed that they were seperating.

Stories like this led me to the J&S and someone else actually dropping their bike when the adapters gave.
Any tips or advice from anyone who has used these adapters
Not trying to bust your ***** here, but more a word of caution. The more elements you add to the process - the more that could go wrong. Make sure you strap the bike down good.

That J&S jack is pretty awesome. I had the pleasure of using one a month or so ago. I did find ONE downside to it...rear True track install.
Since it's so wide, the jack fits right underneath the rear motor mount which made it impossible to install the TT properly. I had to drop the bike, move the jack forward creating a completely unstable bike then lift and complete the rear TT install.
So I was out in my shop tonight messin around with the lift adapters. What a P.I.T.A.! My Sears lift barely goes under the bike with the adapters in place. So when it gets lower it will have to be lowered onto something to get the jack from under the bike. The way the lift is designed it wont clear the kickstand anyway because the two supports are hooked together at the same height. The base that goes under the bike is basically a square piece not two separate supports. Aaaarrrrrgggghhhh! So I figured a way to use one of the adapters where it is called for on the left rear portion of the frame and position my jack towards the rear of the bike just in front of the rear tire. I will just have to do one wheel at a time I guess. I didn't try to jack the front yet, but I figure I can position my jack towards the front of the bike and put one side of the jack just in front of the mid pegs without the lift adapters. I pulled the clutch cable clips and moved the cable so it wont get pinched.
The lowering kit should be here tomorrow so this weekend I should be getting it done.
I am so tempted to cut that rear fender and struts, lose the taillight and move the blinkers to the swingarm like I saw some people have done on here. My wife will never have a passenger, so what the hell.
If I do it, I wanna put the blinkers on the swingarm just below the shocks. I saw where someone put them on the bottom of the swingarm, but I want to put them on the sides.
Any objections? Ideas?

So where do you position the supports of your J & S lift under your Dyna? The frame rails are not even towards the rear of the bike right? Thats the whole reason I thought I had to have these lift adapters.

It fits right behind that tranny protection thingy on the bottom of the frame and is wide enough to go in front of it. I'll see if I have a pic or go take one real quick!!
