Default Lay Down Tag Bracket Help

I am getting ready to install a lay down tag brkt on my Dyna and have been going over the destructions.
What I can't figure out is where or how the wires exit from the tail light to go to the turn signals. Nothing
in the destructions about it.

What are you doing, installing an integrated taillite/lic tag bracket? On mine I used a laydown bracket which is totally seperate frome the tail lite and then installed a laydown tail lit lens, neither of which involved the wiring.

Good Luck

The wires exit the back of the tail light through holes in the fender. One of the license plate bracket bolts also attaches a metal clip that holds the wires on each side of the fender and routes them to the turn signals. When you unbolt the old bracket just pay attention to the clip and put it back like it you found it. Lay on your back with a flashlight and look up under the fender. The job will go better if you have the bike up on a jack and the wheel has dropped slightly but it's a piece of cake even on the jiffy stand.

What GMB said.
Here is what I did on my 2001. They don't tell you this but you will need to drill holes through the fender for the wiring. I took a different approach when I did mine and drilled the hole through the new bracket and fender, so you don't see any exposed wires or holes on the fender. Someone I talked to said there is a 4th hole for the wire to pass thru on the newer bikes, but I can only tell you what I did with mine.
I also left off the rubber gasket for between the bracket and the fender. When I tightened mine down, it mushroomed out about a 1/4" of so and looked like sh#*. So I left it off, figured the original bracket didn't have one so it should be ok.
Before you start, you may want to pick up some extra purple and black wire, my exisiting wires were too short, so I had to run to the dealer the next day.

It really helps having the bike up on the lift so the wheel is dropped out of the way to get your hands between the wheel and fender.
Take your time and all should go well.
Post some pictures when you have it done.

I don't know about yours, but my bracket is from Bubba's http://www.bubbasbrake.com/LPB.htm . This intergrates the signals in with the bracket. I had to drill a 1/2 inch hole into my fender in order to run the wires. I hated that part, but the end results were great!

I check that out and its nice. I hated to have to move the tail lamps but to install my detachable saddlebags I had to.
As soon as I'm able to handle buying a bagger I'm going to put the Dyna back to original condition anyway. I look at
pictures of when it was new and like the look.

Glad it went smoothly.
Was the forth hole off to the left side there already or did you have to drill it?
Are there exposed wires between the bar and the fender?
The HD kit I bought didn't come with any instructions so I did what I thought would look the best.

The forth hole was already there. That made me happy! Yes there are some slightly exposed wires.

That's cool, HD must have had enough complaints to do something about it.
I was a little nervous drilling into the fender while not going thru the tire.
I'll have to take some photos of what mine turned out like to post.
