Default Stretched Fender Brace

Guys

So I installed a stretched down and out rear fender and replaced my stretched down fender. My old fender was connected to the old bumper bracket or brace. With this new fender I cant get near the brace. I put a long both through the license plate to the brace, but think that is kinda sketchy. Maybe some long spacers in the bolt holes? I have been trying to come up with a bracket of my own but coming up blank

Here is the bracket.

you can see how it stretches out. So it wont bolt to the bracket.

Thumbs up

That's quite a radical change! Have you checked with the fender brand, to see if they make a suitable bracket? Look for the maker's website, not dealer ones if you can, to get the complete picture.

Yeah I spoke to them and they dont make a bracket. I have been trying to locate something online. Or maybe I will have to have someone Fab one up. Just easier to purchase something

Wink

If that bracket fits out of sight behind the fender it doesn't have to be chrome-plated, or even look very special. A local small shop or indy may be able to make up something suitable, which you can then get painted or powder-coated.

Might help if you show a side view of the bike without the bag and side cover on to see if someone can help. I know some people go off the bottom of the bag bar with a mount.

I have a bracket I purchased for the Beach Bike a finished a few months back. The bracket was just to large for my stock 2001 fender. Eventually found one that fit. I think the bracket I bought may be for a newer bike. It's brand new and maybe you can use it. If you are interested I will take and post a pic tonight ... just let me know.

I dont know happened to the days of us fabricating crap....
here are a couple simple ideas -
Does it need to look just like that?
Then cut the tabs off weld in what length is necessary, drill it, send it out for rechrome.
Or bend a piece to fit and paint it black

Oh not at all. I was just looking for ideas. Basically I need a longer bracket or a larger radius. I cant weld, but could possibly bend some metal. I dont care what it looks like since its behind the fender. Noone will ever see it

Run it down to the weld shop and have them stretch the sides to whatever you need thereabouts.
Bring it home drill it, paint it or send it out for chrome (yuk)
I say never add chrome, add lightness!
