Progressive Front Fork Lowering Kit for Dyna Street Bob
My Progressive front lowering kit from Phat Performance will be delivered by Friday, after waiting for 3 months. I believe I am one of first to order these for a Street Bob. I already have my Bob lowered on the front by 3/4 of an inch, by raising the fork tubes through the triple trees, but of course it is not so pretty with the top not being flush anymore. The new kit will give me an option of lowering 1 to 2 inches. Looking at my bike now, looks like it has room for me to lower the front by a total of 2 inches, I know I will have to be very careful in turns, but I think it will look really cool and give it that stretched look. I will post pics once they are put on.
RE: Progressive Front Fork Lowering Kit for Dyna Street Bob
Maybe you can post before and after measurements at the corner of your upper tree or something. I installed the same kit in my 98 Wide Glide (I took the 1" lower option), but I think the net effect was less than a 1" reduction in vertical hieght. It'd be interesting to see what you come up with!
Also, I suggest that you stick with stock fork oil until after the conversion. I upgraded to SE fork oil at the same time that I installed my kit, and the front end is stiff as a board. This way you can make incremental changes to dial her in.
