Oil filter question.
Thinking about changing the oil on my 2008 superglide, wondering if when I remove the oil filter will the oil run all over the front of the engine. Is there any tricks?

Yes, it will. When I change my filter, I remove the voltage regulator so I have clear access to the filter/area. I use a 2-liter bottle that is cut on a diagonal, and shove that up under the filter area. Other people have used a piece of cardboard, or a ziplock baggie.
Just make sure to wipe up, wash off, any oil spilled down your Dyna's chin.... it gets on the rubber motor mount, making it deteriorate pretty quick.

I warm up the bike and drain the oil. let it sit a bit to cool down some and then surround the oil filter with a plastic grocery bag. then screw off. never a drop spilled...Oh FWIW H-D has come out with some new parts recently... an oil catch for removal of the filter is one of those parts, it's 20 dollars.
