First, thanks to all who post here. I've learned a lot and got a lot of good ideas. I thought I'd show my speedo relocate, since I didn't like the idea of it hangin on top of my t bars. I just cut the speedo ring off the top riser clamp, turned it down on the lathe, drilled a hole on the side and mounted it with about a 1" standoff to the top motor mount where the horn used to be( relocated that to a dusty shelf)Idiot lights were relocated to the dash ala JerseyDevil. I just picked this bike up a couple weeks ago and I've been crazy busy with mods, powder coated the front end and wheels, racetech emulators, 10" t bars,v rod fairing, bmx pegs, I'm trimming down the stock seat while I'm waiting on new shocks from Howard@ Motorcycle metal.
Man that looks a ton better i been wanting to do something similar, nice work.
Takes some ***** to start cutting on that Tank console...i need to build up some more courage. Maybe after the Daytona trip it's coming up quick!!! Not enough time to start another detailed MOD.
Looks badass and some good thinking with the speedo relocate. Bars are perfect, I think 10" T's look better than the taller 14"+. You should throw up a full side shot of the bike. (And maybe even a nice shot of that sweet looking chop in the back! Pic is blurry, Knuck? Shovel?)
Good job man! Have you ridden it yet, just wondering how good you can see it? Looks like it sits out far enough, probably not much riding going on in Saskatchewan yet, lol.
What shocks are you going with, Howard has been very helpful to me although I haven't decided yet.
Yeah, you're right, no riding here for at least another month I'm sure. Just sittin on the bike I can see the speedo up to about 70 mph, after that the tank covers it up, but after that who really needs to know. I went with the # 2 ohlins @ 11 5/8th's length. Here is a full side shot plus a pic of my shovel chop.
The dyna looks great, which pipe is that? The shovel is sick, but I'm not sure how much those heat shields are going to help way back there. lol Lastly, if that is your shop, you are a Lucky man!
