Hey all hope your winter is going good Im needin some help and did a ton of searching on it. I ordered a kit for 16" apes from Hill Country Cycles, read some good reviews, and they are for a 2" riser. I got a 2" riser/clamp assembly from J and P, I'll see if I can get a pic of it from the catalog on here, along with polyurethane bushings. Nothing is torn apart yet, still waiting for the bars kit, but Im looking at my stock risers and their diameter is a lot bigger than the diameter on my new risers.
Im thinking my new risers are too small, talks about a bolt kit that needs to go with it, so I may be sending them back. Ive seen a few with apes on here, my apes are 1 1/4" and the 1" diameter at the risers. What I cant find, is what brand of risers are you putting on with your apes and what size? Im looking for a 2", seen plenty on what brand of bars but no one said what kind of riser they bought.
The Fat Bob bars are 1.25" at the riser clamp area. Your new bars require risers with a 1" clamp area.
Be sure that the 2" risers you get are for 1" bars.
Or you could exchange the 1" bars for 1.25" bars and use stock Fat Boy risers.
Yepper, these risers are for the 1" diameter at the mount point, Im guessing when they go on I use a different size bolt. Not to hijack my own thread but props to you 08fxd for a post you put out about your front turn signal mounts. I ordered those yesterday by following your link to the ebay seller of those. Looking forward to them getting here.
Ill go check on your buy there TX. From what I can tell there is a chubbier riser out there that is as thick in diameter as my stock risers were. Sorry Im strugglin on putting a pic up on here. I may call J and P too just to see but this place is always helpful. Yep our setups are major similiar.
