Default battery problems

Well my dumb *** left the key in the bike and killed the battery. I tried to jump it but it wont start. All that happens is something is making a loud clicking sound when I try to start it. I don't know what else to try.

Need to push more amps through it or let the battery charge for a bit before you try to crank it. What are you trying to jump it from, another bike or a vehicle battery? Are you hooking the cables up correctly (i.e. you're grounding the black to a "hot" surface i.e. it sparks when you clamp it--I've found some odd spots/bolts on the engine/trans case that seem like they won't conduct electricity well enough to crank the motor).

I was trying to jump it from a car battery, And I hooked up the negative to a couple different spots that produced a spark when i hooked them up. I read on a couple other threads of people using 1 amp battery charger to charge the battery back up.

Since your battery is relatively new, hooking it up to a battery tender and slowly recharge overnight or longer may do the trick. Hopefully, it does not have a terminal case of the "deads".

Good luck.

Thumbs up

It may be the car battery is not adding enough power. If you could jump it from a car while its engine is running you should get a result. Best of luck!

I'd try charging the battery with a trickle charger, not a battery tender.

If it keeps a charge you're OK; if not you need a new battery.

You might want to pull your maxi-fuse while charging the battery on the bike. Just sayin.

Glad to hear. Good advice is to keep it on a battery tender when not in use.
