Hear you got it started, good job. I realize the reason the battery died was due to the ignition being left on, I would check the battery cables for tightness at the battery, could be an ounce of prevention. One less thing to worry about during the riding season.

 

Never try to jump a bike from a running car. The car should be left off. Just let it sit for a few extra mins if it doesn't start right away.
